Ms Donna Tyrrell

EDUCATOR  |  LEADER  |  LIFELONG LEARNER

Biography

Across two decades in education, I have contributed in varied roles, from mentoring and coordinating assessments to designing inclusive programs and leading Aboriginal education initiatives. At Independent Central School, I served as Literacy, Diverse Learning Needs, and Secondary Coordinator, supporting NAPLAN, accreditation, and professional learning.

At Catholic Secondary School, I led literacy and Aboriginal education efforts, working with Wiradjuri elders to embed culture through strategic planning and weekly yarning circles.

Currently, I teach in a Stage 5 support unit, where I create differentiated programs that empower students with complex needs to thrive. This role deepens my belief that inclusive classrooms are the foundation of strong schools, and that leadership grows through empathy, collaboration, and critical reflection.

Informed by my Master of Education and grounded in frameworks like HIPL and the AITSL Standards, I continue refining my practice to strengthen both student outcomes and school-wide improvement.
